Unsettled weather ahead with rain and strengthened winds at times. Milder days, particularly in the south.

A change to the weather from Monday as rain moves in as well as strengthened winds at times. The driest of days is forecast on Thursday. Temperatures creep up a couple degrees for many at times through the week.

Wednesday 21/10/20
Still influenced by low pressure midweek. Outbreaks of rain spread across much of southern and central England as well as Wales. A band of rain pushing from north to south across Ireland. Rain too affecting Northern Ireland and much of Scotland throughout the day. Driest of conditions across northern England and once the rain clears across northern parts of Ireland. Highs at 10C in the north to a still mild 16C in the southeast.


Thursday 22/10/20
Rain slowly clears to the east on Thursday as a ridge of higher pressure briefly builds over the UK and Ireland. Largely dry and fine conditions expected although cloud will thicken in the west with some rain affecting the far west later on. A cooler day than of late with highs around 9 to 10C in the north and 13C in the south.
 


Friday 23/10/20
A chilly but dry and bright start to the day on Friday for southern and eastern areas. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain to the west as low pressure arrives. Rain becomes patchy as it moves east while sunny spells and occasional showers follow the rain to the west. High temperatures at 8 to 13C.

Saturday 24/10/20
Low pressure to the west brings further outbreaks of, often heavy, rain to Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales, much of Scotland and western and central parts of England. Staying dry for southeast England until later. Southwesterly winds will be brisk too throughout the country. A milder day with highs ranging from 12 to 15C.

Sunday 25/10/20
A mixed to unsettled day again with persistent and heavy rain at times in parts of the south. Rain easing in the north, however, showers will affect western areas. Best of the sunshine in the east. A cooler day compared to yesterday with highs of 9C to 14C.

Monday 26/10/20
Staying relatively unsettled with outbreaks of rain pushing into western areas on Sunday where it will be breezy too. Driest of conditions further east. High of 8C to 13C.
