Very unsettled and becoming wet and windy, cool to cold for all

Unsettled weather in the week ahead with low pressure taking control of the atmosphere overhead the UK and Ireland. There will be periods of rain and showers, some of these will be heavy at times. It will be windy on some days too. Temperatures generally below average for the time of year.

Saturday 3/10/20
Low pressure is over the UK and Ireland on Saturday. This brings another unsettled day. Rain and rather windy for many. The rain is likely to be heavy in Scotland as well as through Wales and southwest England. This rain probably slips into eastern Ireland in the afternoon, whilst western Ireland stays dry and windy. Eastern parts of the UK becoming drier in the afternoon with a few bright or sunny spells developing. Highs at 10 to 12C in the wetter west, 14C as any brightness comes through in the east.

Sunday 4/10/20
Pressure stays low on Sunday. More periods of rain rotating around the rea of low pressure. The rain will be heavy at times, and although much is uncertainty it does look as if this will be heaviest in Scotland and through southern England and Wales.Some showers developing in central and northern England, these becoming heavy in places. Temperatures at 11 to 14C.
 

Monday 5/10/20
Low pressure again over the UK and Ireland. A mix of sunshine and showers, these could be heavy and thundery. More persistent rain may affect eastern Scotland. Temperatures at 12 to 14C.

Tuesday 6/10/20
Pressure stays low on Tuesday. Sunny spells and showers again. The showers could be heavy and will be concentrated in a few areas. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Wednesday 7/10/20
A westerly flow developing through Wednesday. This is likely to be bringing a brighter day for many, especially in the east. Showery outbreaks of rain in the west. Highs at 12 to 15C.

Thursday 8/10/20
It may become cloudier with periods of rain on Thursday. Low pressure returns with the rain being heavy to the west. Highs at 11 to 14C.
