Mixed, then wet and windy next week but mostly mild

A mixed end to the week with rain or showers at times. Feeling cool in the north but milder to the south. Conditions are set to become more unsettled next week with strong winds bringing widespread gales to western areas and rain, most in the west too. Mild for most.

Friday 23/10/20
Fronts will be passing eastwards on Friday bringing rain to Ireland and western UK during the morning. This rain then edges eastwards into the afternoon to be across northern, central and southern England. Brighter weather follows into Ireland although there will be some showers in the west. East Anglia and the south-east may stay dry until mid afternoon. A breezy day for all. Highs at 0C in northern Scotland, 14C in southeast England.

Saturday 24/10/20
A windy day with rain affecting much of Ireland and western Scotland. Patchy rain over western Wales and western England too. Elsewhere it should be dry although rather cloudy and staying windy. A mild day with temperatures between 13 and 16C.

 
 
 

Sunday 25/10/20
A front lies north to south through England and Wales on Sunday bringing outbreaks of rain here. Fresher and brighter in Ireland, Scotland and northwest England although with a few showers. Highs at a cooler 9 to 12C for most, 15C in southeast England.

Monday 26/10/20
Breezy and unsettled again on Monday. Outbreaks of rain will pass eastwards and some of these will be heavy at times. Sunny spells and scattered showers followed to the west. Highs at a cool 9 to 13C

Tuesday 27/10/20
A deep area of low pressure of West of Scotland on Tuesday. This brings strong wins to all parts of the UK and Ireland with a risk of gales in places. Periods of rain affecting much of the north and west, although perhaps a dryer across central and southern England. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Wednesday 28/10/20
Windy on Wednesday with showers in the west more eastern areas are likely to be drier and brighter, and it should be brighter in the south as well. Highs at 10 to 15C.
