Cloud and outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland this morning, these lasting into the afternoon. Morning rain clears eastern England quickly to leave broken cloud, some sunny spells in central and southern areas. Rain and stronger winds in southern Ireland. This area of rain and strong winds heads north and east bringing wet weather to much of Northern Ireland and southern Scotland this afternoon. Rain will also be affecting northwest England and northwest Wales in the afternoon. Elsewhere it should be mostly dry with broken cloud and a few sunny spells. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, a mild 18C in southeast England.

Tuesday Night
Staying wet over most of Scotland tonight, some heavy rain in central and northern areas. Rain should clear from northwest England for a time. A further band of rain slips through Ireland and then across Wales and southern England through the early hours. The southeastern quarter of England becoming wet. Lows near 7 to 10C.
 

Wednesday
Low pressure is in control of the weather across the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. Wet through central and southern England as well as East Anglia, this could be heavy at times too. Rain in Scotland, mostly central and northern areas. Cloudier for another places, a few spots of showery rain here and there with only fleeting brighter spells. Breezy in northwest Scotland. Highs at a very mild 18C in the southeast, 10C in northwest Scotland.

Thursday
A ridge of high pressure covers the UK and Ireland on Thursday. A weakening front through central parts of England and Wales with a few spots of rain. These will be clearing to the south and east with some bright or sunny spells developing. A ridge of high pressure builds in Ireland and Scotland bringing sunshine and dry weather here. Cooler weather in the north too. Highs at 18C in southeast England, 9 to 11C for much of the north and west.
