Cool and mixed with rain and showers for many, drier towards the weekend

Cool and mixed weather in the coming days. There is a risk of some heavier rain across central and southern areas on Thursday and Friday, ahead of the weather turning chiller again into the weekend. Conditions may then become drier through the weekend and into next week, although still some showers on coasts to the west, north and east.

Sunday 11/10/20
Higher pressure southwest of Ireland with low pressure to the east on Sunday. The result is a northwest to north wind but a fair day for many as well. Some showers around northern and eastern coasts, but generally drier elsewhere. A cold start to the day with a frost in places and then staying chilly with highs at 9 to 13C.
 

Monday 12/10/20
A weak front brings outbreaks of rain to many on Monday spreading from the northwest across the country. Far southeastern parts of England and eastern parts of Scotland may stay dry until later in the evening though it becomes cloudier here throughout the day. Drier, brighter conditions follow from the west. Highs at 11 to 13C for most.
 

Tuesday 13/10/20
Brighter and cooler again on Tuesday as high pressure briefly builds to the west once more. Scattered showers affect northern and eastern coasts but it stays dry for most with good spells of sunshine. Cloud builds over western Ireland later. High temperatures range from 10 to 13C.

Wednesday 14/10/20
Confidence is low at the moment but Wednesday may see brighter, drier conditions persist for most areas. An area of low pressure to the southeast may bring outbreaks of patchy rain into southeast England however. Breezy here too. Highs at 9 to 15C.

Thursday 15/10/20
Confidence continues low into Thursday which currently looks set to continue with a similar theme to Wednesday. Dry and bright but cool for most. Cloudier to the southeast with patchy outbreaks of rain here. Staying breezy here too. Highs range from 10 to 13C.

Friday 16/10/20
Friday could see lower pressure affecting most parts of the British Isles, though confidence continues low at this time. Outbreaks of rain spread from southern areas into central areas while northern parts stay drier and brighter. Highs of 10 to 15C.
