Mixed with sunshine and showers, some thundery

Staying mixed throughout this week with showers and longer spells of rain at times. The showers could be thundery. Temperatures are likely to be mild for much of the week although turning cooler next week.

Thursday 11/5/23
The area of low pressure slips south through the British Isles on Thursday. Broken cloud and some showers in the morning especially through eastern Scotland, eastern and southern England and Wales. The showers turning heavier and thundery into the afternoon across much of England, Wales and southern Scotland as well as eastern Ireland. Probably drier and brighter for much of central and northern Scotland as well as western Ireland. A mild day at 14 to 17C.

Friday 12/4/23
A bright day for Friday and dry for most as a ridge of high pressure builds through the country. Good spells of sunshine in the west but some showers in eastern England. Highs at 15 to 18C and feeling cool on eastern coasts in the breeze.

Saturday 13/4/23
A ridge of high pressure brings a mostly fair day to many on Saturday. Sunny spells and dry conditions for most. Increased cloud in western Scotland and western Ireland may bring a few spots of rain here later in the day. Highs at 16 to 19C.

Sunday 14/5/23
Fronts passing east on Sunday taking come showery rain through Scotland, northern England and Wales. The rain eventually reaching southern England by evening, Brighter weather follows to Scotland and Ireland. Highs at 18C in southeast England, 11C in western Scotland.

Monday 15/5/23
A bright day with a few showers in eastern England. Drier in the west with sunny spells. Mostly dry in Scotland and Ireland as a weak ridge of high pressure builds. Feeling cooler. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 16/5/23
An area of low pressure crossing through the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This brings rain and some showers. Most of the rain in northern England, Scotland and Ireland, showers to the south. Breezy with highs at 12 to 15C.
