Dry and fair for most, cloudier north and west at times, getting warmer

Dry and fine for many through next week and weekend with warm sunshine, particularly further south. Some weak fronts in the north could bring variable cloud cover and the risk of light rain here. Also risk of heavy showers developing in the far south next weekend.

A weak front passing east through Scotland on Wednesday will bring cloudier skies and the risk of some light rain and drizzle. Otherwise, dry for most other areas with broken cloud and sunny spells. Highs at 21C in England and Wales, 10C in northwest Scotland.
 

Thursday 25/5/23
High pressure sits just to the west of Ireland allowing for a dry and fine day for most with sunny spells. Highs at 12C in northwest Scotland, 17 to 22C elsewhere.

Friday 26/5/23
Pressure remains high through the country on Friday. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should stay dry. Some cloud in northwest Scotland with a chance of some patchy rain here. Highs at 17 to 23C.

Saturday 27/5/23
A weak front bringing cloud and rain into the north and west of Scotland on Saturday, otherwise dry and fair with some bright or sunny spells. Highs could reach 21 to 24C for many with 14C in northwest Scotland.

Sunday 28/5/23
A dry day for most with sunny spells and variable cloud cover. The risk of some showers pushing up from France on to southern English counties later, possibly heavy and thundery. Tops at 14C in northwest Scotland, 22C in southeast England.
