Largely dry with warm sunshine.

Largely settled thanks to higher pressure ridging in across much of the country, though always the risk of more cloud and some patchy rain across Scoland and Northern Ireland. Turning breezier in the north later next week as Atlantic low pressure becomes more dominant here.

Saturday 20/5/23
An extended front from the Atlantic moves in to far western areas on Saturday. This will bring cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain to north and west Scotland, some patchy lighter rain to western regions of Ireland and Northern Ireland. With higher pressure influencing elsewhere it will be dry and fine with hazy sunshine. Highs at a 16 to 21C for most.
 

Sunday 21/5/23
The Atlantic front weakens significantly on Sunday seeing only patchy light rain affecting western regions along with cloudier skies but with some sunny spells developing later. Dry and fine elsewhere again thanks to ridging high pressure. Highs at 16 to 20C.

Monday 22/5/23
High pressure loosely ridges in across the country keeping most dry with warm sunshine on Monday. Atlantic fronts will continue to bring cloud with patchy rain across Ireland, Scotland and into northern England where a slightly brisker northerly wind picks up. Highs at 15 to 21C.

Tuesday 23/5/23
High pressure over the Azores continues to influence mostly dry and fine weather, though northern into eastern areas seeing the greater risk of some showery rain. Highs at 15 to 21C.

Wednesday 24/5/23
Staying dry with sunshine across southern areas, while cloudier skies and outbreaks of rain affect northern areas, mainly the western coasts and hills here, where it will be breezier too. Highs at 15 to 21C.

Thursday 25/5/23
Thursday sees winds pick up still further north. A westerly wind flow sees outbreaks of rain affect western areas with perhaps some persistent rainfall across northwest Scotland. Drier and brigther further east. Highs at 15 to 20C.
