Rain for some at first, but then becoming cooler and drier

A change in the weather this week as high pressure builds. Before then some rain is likely, especially through Tuesday in northern areas, more central and southern parts on Wednesday. After that cooler weather arrives from the north with high pressure building. As the high moves around winds are going to be increasing and it will be remaining chilly.

Thursday 19/3/20
The front could affect the far south of England on Thursday bringing further periods of rain here. Again from the Midlands northwards it is going to be cold with a scattering of wintry showers. Most of the showers in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Temperatures at 10C in the far south of England, 5 to 7C for most other areas.

Friday 20/3/20
The cloud associated with the front may affect the far south of England on Friday. Brighter away from southern England with good spells of sunshine. A few showers over eastern coasts. Drier in the west. Highs at 6 to 8C.

 
 
 

Saturday 21/3/20
High pressure off eastern Scotland on Saturday. Breezy and cool in England and Wales. Broken cloud in the east with a few showers. Best sunshine in the west of England, Wales and Scotland as well as Northern Ireland. Highs at 6 to 8C.

 
 
 

Sunday 22/3/20
The easterly flow persists over the UK and Ireland on Sunday. Some showers over eastern coasts, possibly wintry. Best of the sunshine to the west, with broken cloud. Highs at 6 to 8C.

Monday 23/3/20
Pressure tending to stay high through Monday. There will be a few showers in the east. Most places dry with sunny spells and tempreatures at 5 to 8C.

Tuesday 24/3/20
Higher pressure remains in place on Tuesday. Plenty of sunshine and dry weather. Increased winds and some cloud and outbreaks of rain in western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 8 to 12C.
