Getting better next week, although more wind and rain before

The weather is set to improve next week, but before we get there more rain and strong winds are likely. There is the threat of heavy rain in the west at times, with colder weather, albeit it briefly on Monday.

Friday 13/3/20
Low pressure in the North Sea on Friday. A front across the south will be taking rain with it, clearing southern and eastern England during the afternoon. A few showers in the west, these heavy in western Ireland. Sunny spells elsewhere. Tops near 8 to 12C.

Saturday 14/3/20
A weak area of low pressure brings a band of showers east through all parts of the country on Saturday. The showers could be heavy at times, especially in the west. Fewer showers in the east. Highs at 6 to 14C.

 
 
 

Sunday 15/3/20
Pressure is low north of Scotland on Sunday. An area of rain will be affecting England and Wales, moving east during the day. Heavy showers then follow from the west. The showers merging to longer spells of rain in western Scotland and western Ireland, turning to snow on hills as colder air arrives here. Highs at 6 to 14C.
 

Monday 16/3/20
Low pressure to the east with a ridge of higher pressure building to the west. A cold northerly wind will be affecting all areas. Showers in the east with fewer of them in the west. Highs at a cold 4 to 8C.

Tuesday 17/3/20
Higher pressure builds on Tuesday bringing a fair day. Plenty of sunshine through the day, although some showers may affect eastern coasts. Highs at 7 to 12C.

Wednesday 18/3/20
A fair day with sunny spells as high pressure remains over the south of the country. A risk of rain in northern Scotland. Highs at 14C in southern areas 10C in northern Scotland.
