Staying chilly with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow at times

Staying chilly during the coming week. Low pressure will be bringing bands of rain, sleet and hill snow on several days. It will be windy at times too with gales in places.

Tuesday 03/03/20
A transient ridge of high pressure may bring a more settled day on Tuesday with some sunny spells developing for many. Scattered wintry showers over western areas tend to fade through the day though persist over western Scotland where some may be wintry. High temperatures around 4 to 8C.

Wednesday 04/03/20
Wednesday starts bright and frosty before low pressure brings cloud and outbreaks of rain across southern parts of Ireland and the UK. Breezy here as well. The risk of showers persists over northwestern Scotland. Drier and brighter over central and northeastern areas. Highs at 4 to 8C.
 

Thursday 05/03/20
A transient ridge of high pressure builds on Thursday bringing a mostly dry and fine day to the UK and Ireland keeping rain confined to the far south of England. An area of low pressure arrives to the west bringing rain into the west of Ireland later. Highs near 4 to 8C.
 

Friday 06/03/20
A band of rain sweeps from west to east on Friday, some of it heavy, affecting most areas. Brighter, showery conditions follow from the west with showers focussed over Ireland and the western UK. High temperatures ranging from 4 to 9C.

Saturday 07/03/20
Saturday starts dry and bright for the UK before low pressure brings cloud and rain from the west. Rain focussed over northern areas, staying dry but cloudy for southern England and Wales. Windy to the northwest, possible gales here. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Sunday 08/03/20
High pressure to the southwest and low pressure to the northeast brings a strong, cool northwesterly flow to the UK and Ireland. Frequent wintry showers for northern and western coasts and hills. Drier, brighter southeast. Highs temperatures at 4 to 10C.
