Strong northwesterly winds, gales for western caosts and hills, continue to affect the UK and Ireland as a deep low pressure system stays in charge to our northeast. Showers of rain, sleet and snow affect western coasts and hills across the country with the potential for heavy snow over northern Scotland and snow to lower levels across western Scotland. Mainly dry for central, southern and eastern parts of England with good spells of sunshine here. Chilly with high temperatures at 2 to 7C.
A generally disturbed weather pattern continues on Wednesday. The day starts breezy with frequent wintry showers to the west but both showers and winds ease for a spell through the afternoon. Rain arrives to the west of Ireland through the late afternoon, accompanied by strengthening winds once more, reaching southwestern parts of the UK by evening. Highs at 2 to 7C.
Early rain clears to the east leaving a bright, breezy day with blustery showers. Showers most frequent to the west where some will fall as sleet and snow. Drier and brighter to the east. High temperatures at 1 to 7C.
A deep area of low pressure brings high winds and heavy outbreaks of rain to Ireland and Northern Ireland through Thursday night and this spreads across the UK through Friday. Rain clears away from southern areas through the afternoon but persists to the north. Widespread gales expected, severe gales west. Highs at 4 to 10C.
Conditions continue unsettled on Saturday with outbreaks of heavy rain spreading northeastward across the UK and Ireland. Once again this rain will be accompanied by strong winds. Gales for southern and southwestern areas. Highs of 5 to 12C.
