Not as unsettled as recent weeks

Despite there being more rain this week, it isn't expected to be as wet as recently. Longer spells of drier weather are likely. A cool start but then indications of the weather turning milder into next week.

Thursday 5/3/20
Low pressure crosses England and Wales into Thursday. This brings rain and stronger winds for a time, a risk of some sleet or wet snow on hills, and perhaps for a time even at low levels in the Midlands and eastern England. Rain, sleet and any snow clears eastwards in the morning. A ridge of high pressure then builds from the west bringing brighter and drier weather with sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 8C.

Friday 6/3/20
Low pressure to the east of the country on Friday bringing a cool northwest flow. There will be some showery rain here and there, mainly in the east and across western coasts too. Highs near 4 to 8C.

 
 
 

Saturday 7/3/20
A weak ridge of high pressure builds on Saturday. There could be some showers in east at first but these will be fading. Drier and brighter west and north with sunny spells developing. Temperatures at 5 to 9C.

 
 
 

Sunday 8/3/20
The ridge of high pressure slowly collapses to the east on Sunday. A front brings cloud and rain into Ireland and western Scotland. Increasing cloud over western England and western Wales with the risk of some rain here too. Tops at 5 to 10C.

Monday 9/3/20
A weak ridge of higher pressure builds Monday, but in a moist west to southwest flow. This brings lots of lower cloud and drizzle to western coasts and hills. More persistent rain could affect western Scotland. Temperatures at 6 to 12C.

Tuesday 10/3/20
Higher pressure stays to the south on Tuesday with lower pressure to the north. Rain affects much of Scotland and western Ireland. Eastern Ireland and most of England and Wales will have broken cloud, a few spots of drizzle in the west. Highs at 9 to 13C.
