A cold weekend with plenty of cloud, becoming milder in the middle of next week

A developing southeast to east wind is going to be bringing cooler conditions to much of the UK and Ireland through the weekend. There will be spells of rain at times in the west, but amounts are likely to be low for most. By the middle of next week temperatures may start to rise as conditions become drier again.

Saturday 13/4/19
High pressure stays to the northeast of the UK and Ireland on Saturday. This brings a fair but cold day across much of England, eastern Wales and Scotland. Some cloud again through central and eastern England, making it feel especially chilly here. Cloudier in Ireland with the risk of some drizzle over southern and western coasts and hills. Highs around 7C along eastern coasts, 11C in the west.

Sunday 14/4/19
High pressure stays to the east on Sunday. Cloud in western parts of the UK and Ireland. Eastern areas may be brighter with some sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 12C.

 
 
 

Monday 15/4/19
Low pressure to the southwest of Ireland on Monday, high pressure stays to the east bringing a breezy day. Fronts may bring some outbreaks of rain through Ireland and into the west of the UK and Wales. Brighter overall in the east, although coasts may see some cloud and drizzle at times. Temperatures reaching 8 to 13C.
 

Tuesday 16/4/19
Fronts may affect the west of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday bringing patchy outbreaks of rain here. Drier in the east although rather cloudy. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Wednesday 17/4/19
High pressure stays to the north on Wednesday. This brings some cloud to the south and east. Dry in the north with sunny spells throughout. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Thursday 18/4/19
The easterly flow persists on Thursday. This brings some broken cloud to the south and east, best of the sunshine in the north and west. Highs at 12 to 17C.
