More unsettled with rain and showers, cooler temperatures for all

The weather will be turning more unsettled through this week. Low pressure pushes bands of rain and showers northwards and eastwards, some of the showers will be heavy and thundery at times. It is going to become cooler too and breezy at times.

Friday 26/04/19
A trough of low pressure lies to the west on Friday while a smaller area of low pressure tracks across the southern UK. This will bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Wales and England through the morning and early afternoon followed from the southwest by scattered showers and sunny spells. Heavy rain will move across Ireland through the late morning and into western Scotland by the afternoon. A dry and bright afternoon in the far northeast. Highs across northwestern Scotland, eastern Ireland, Northern Ireland, south Wales and southern and central England at 13 to 15C. Cooler elsewhere at 10 to 11C.


Saturday 27/04/19
A deep area of low pressure to the northeast brings heavy rain and strong winds to much of Scotland as well as some snow over hilltops in the Highlands and Grampians. Across England, Wales and the island of Ireland it will be a mixed day with some heavy, blustery showers, brisk winds and sunny spells. Temperatures at a chilly 8 to 13C.
 


Sunday 28/04/19
Low pressure again brings rain and showers, heavy and thundery at times, mostly in the west and south. Some sunny spells developing in the northeast. High temperatures at 9 to 15C.

 
 
 


Monday 29/04/19
Low pressure continues to bring rain and showers to Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK on Monday. Dry and brighter in the north and east. Highs at 13 to 15C in western Scotland and western Ireland, more widely at 10 to 12C.


Tuesday 30/04/19
Tuesday may see a northerly flow developing bringing a brighter day for most with a chance of showers, especially for north-facing coasts and hills. High temperatures at 11 to 16C.

Wednesday 01/05/19
The northerly flow may continue on Wednesday bringing another mostly bright day across the UK and Ireland with a chance of showers for areas exposed to the northerly wind. Highs at 10 to 16C.
