A chilly week with some drizzle in the east and south at times, brighter in the west

High pressure is going to be building over Scandinavia bringing cold, easterly winds to the UK and Ireland for much of the coming week. There will b some periods of drizzle in the east, with some showers in southern areas too. Breezy in the far west and through Ireland at times. It may become more damp in the south of the UK later next week.

Sunday 14/4/19
The area of high pressure persists over Scandinavia. After a morning frost the day should be dry with broken cloud. It is going to be feeling chilly. There will be a few breaks in the cloud, although most of the cloud is expected in Scotland and Ireland as well as Wales. Highs at 7 to 10C.


Monday 15/4/19
Fronts bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Ireland. Cloud and cold but dry in Wales and southern England. The chance of a few spots of drizzle in central and eastern areas Eastern parts of Scotland and eastern England should be dry and breezy with some sunny spells. Feeling cold for all. Highs at 9 to 12C.
 


Tuesday 16/4/19
Lower pressure may drift into the southern half of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday bringing periods of showery rain here. Some rain and drizzle in eastern Scotland, but fair to the west of Scotland. Highs at 7 to 12C.

 
 
 


Wednesday 17/4/19
High pressure over Scandinavia again on Wednesday. The easterly flow persists allowing some some patchy rain in the southern half of the UK and Ireland. Drier in northern areas with some low cloud on eastern coasts. Highs at 10 to 13C.


Thursday 18/4/19
High pressure stays over Scandinavia on Thursday. Cloud and further spells of patchy rain in England and Wales as wel as Ireland. Drier in the north with some sunshine here. Cold on eastern coasts at 10C, slightly milder in any brighter spells at 14C.

Friday 19/4/19
Low pressure to the south of the country on Friday. Higher pressure to the north. There will be outbreaks of rain in much of central and southern England, Wales and the far south of Ireland. Drier elsewhere with the chances of sunshine increasing to the north. Highs at 10 to 15C.
