Unsettled weather brings cool temperatures and scattered showers

A mixed bag of weather over the coming week. Most areas at risk of catching a shower or two while some heavier bursts of rain will develop at times. Temperatures feeling cool for the time of year.

Sunday 07/04/19
The easterly airflow seems set to continue through Sunday. A band of rain will move southwestward through central and southern parts of England and Wales through the day. Scattered showers will affect northern England and the northern half of Ireland through the early afternoon. It will be a mostly dry day for Scotland and the best of the sunshine will be found across southern Scotland and the north of England. High temperatures at 7 to 13C.

Monday 08/04/19
A northeast to easterly flow continues through Monday. This could bring heavy bursts of rain to southern parts of England and Wales and southwestern Ireland. A mostly dry day elsewhere in the British Isles with a mixture of cloudy skies and good sunny spells. The best of the sunshine for the north of England and central and southern Scotland. Highs at 7 to 12C.
 

Tuesday 09/04/19
Tuesday sees a similar set up to Monday with a northeast to easterly airflow prevailing. Scattered showers will affect much of England and Wales and the far north of Scotland through the day. Elsewhere should be mostly dry with a mixture of cloudy skies and good sunny spells. The best of the brightness in northern and western Ireland and eastern Scotland. High temperatures at 6 to 11C.

Wednesday 10/04/19
Easterly winds continue through Wednesday and with most areas at risk of catching a shower or two. Showers could merge in eastern areas to give longer spells of rain and will likely fall as snow over hilltops across the UK. High temperatures at 6 to 12C.

Thursday 11/04/19
An easterly flow continues through Thursday which will be a similar day to Wednesday. Scattered showers possible for most and these may merge over northern England to give prolonged spells of heavy rain. Best chance of a dry day is in the south of England. High temperatures at 6 to 13C.

Friday 12/04/19
An easterly airflow continues through Friday bringing scattered showers across Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north of England and Wales. These should ease as the day progresses. Mostly dry for Ireland and central and southern parts of England. High temperatures at 6 to 14C.
