Patchy rain moving eastwards, though plenty of sunshine about
Rather cloudy to start, though sunny spells across far eastern and southeastern areas of England, with outbreaks of rain affecting northern and western areas through the morning. Sunny spells soon developing for many with drier weather though with a brisk wind scattered showers are also expected.
The afternoon will see patchy rain move across central and southeast England though many places staying dry. Largely dry and fine elsehwere though in a brisk wind expect showers to affect far western areas.
Overnight, clear spells for many, particularly further north, though an Atlantic low pressure system will push cloud and outbreaks of rain across Ireland, Northern Ireland into western parts of the rest of the UK later.
