Rain clearing from the south to drier and brighter weather

In the morning, cloud and outbreaks of rain affect northern England and gradually push northwards across Scotland, falling heavy in places. Some showery across England, Wales and Ireland though drier and brighter weather is expected to develop here from the south.

In the afternoon, the sunnier spells moves up the country though also with some developing showers. Scotland looks to remain mostly cloudy with some showery rain still affecting places across the north even by the end of the day.

Overnight, rain continues to affect north and northeast Scotland but gradually eases and slowly clears offshore. Across the rest of Scotland, England and much of Wales it will be dry with clear spells. Ireland will be cloudy with more rain moving northwards through here pushing into Northern Ireland by morning.
