Morning Call - May 18, 2022
Mostly dry and warm
Thundery showers west

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 18th May 2022
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mainly dry, increasing cloud and warm but some thundery showers in the west

A fair start for Wednesday for most this morning. There will be sunny spells, the best of them in the north and east of the country. Always more cloud west and south, although some sunny spells here too. Showery rain in the far northwest of Scotland. Some rain in the far southwest of Ireland later this morning, but for most it will be staying dry and warm.

This afternoon sees the rain in southern and southwest Ireland getting more persistent and thundery. An area of thundery showers may develop across southwest England and southern Ireland too, this edging into the Midlands and southern England this evening. Dry for most, although with increasing cloud and the best brightness in the north and east.

Thundery showers and rain passing north and east tonight, a few local downpours. Drier weather reaching Ireland, Wales and much of western England, eventually southern Scotland too.
