Rain in the west, drier in the east with the best sunshine too
Dry and bright this morning across much of eastern Scotland and eastern and central England. Good spells of sunshine here. There's more cloud in western areas thanks to an approaching front. This is bringing rain to Ireland, with the rain soon reaching western Scotland, west Wales and the far southwest of England. The south to southeast breeze is going to be increasing too.
This afternoon sees the rain pushing further into the west of Scotland and western England and well as Wales. Rain could be heavy in eastern Ireland, but it should be drier in the far west. Staying mostly dry for the rest of England with some sunny spells, although some showers could develop in central and southern areas.
Overnight further rain passes through Scotland with some patchy rain for northern and central England, eventually clearer eastern coasts. Tending to turn drier elsewhere with some clear spells, although always some showers in the west.
