Windy and wet north and west but drier east and south
Some sunshine to start today across most central and eastern areas of England. Cloud is increasing in the north and west. Windy across western Scotland and Ireland with rain afecting western Scotland and western Ireland.
The rain only slowly easing east through the morning and afternoon, probably affecting most of Scotland by this afternoon. Rain in western Ireland with some bright or sunny spells here. Mostly dry for much of England and Wales, although some outbreaks of rain reaching northwest England and northwest Wales. Elsewhere there will be a fair amount of cloud but it should be dry.
Tonight sees a band of cloud slipping south through northern England and Wales to be across the Midlands and southern Wales by morning. Some showers follow to western Scotland but other areas drier with some clearer skies. Cloudy in the southeast.
