Week ahead - October 29, 2021
Unsettled still
Turning chilly

Issued: 0930hrs Friday 29th October 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Staying unsettled with plenty of rain, before high pressure later in the week.

Areas of low pressure will frequently slam into the UK and Ireland bringing outbreaks of rain and strengthened winds this weekend and into next week. High pressure then builds in later in the week calming the weather down. Expect chillier temepratures for all next week.

Monday 1/11/21
Outbreaks of rain across much of Scotland as well as northwest England in the morning will gradually clear from the south through the day. Drier elsewhere with sunny spells though showers will affect western regions. A windy day with perhaps gusty winds across Scotland and northern England. Temperatures of 9 to 13C across England and Wales, 6 to 9C further north.

Tuesday 2/11/21
Winds become more northerly on Tuesday with a cooler day in store. Showers will affect northern and western coasts, these falling wintry across Scotland and the hills. Most places should be dry and bright, however, a separate system does look to bring cloud and outbreaks of rain to parts of Wales and southern English counties where winds will strengthen for a time here. Highs at 7 to 11C.

Wednesday 3/11/21
Some cloud and rain may just linger across the far southeast corner of England on Wednesday morning before clearing offshore. A largely dry day with plenty of sunshine about, although with northerly winds do expect showers down coastal counties, these likely to be wintry further north. Temperatures of 8 to 11C.

Thursday 4/11/21
After a frosty start for some it will remain chilly on Thursday but dry for most as high pressure builds in across much of the country. A trailing weak front may just bring cloudier skies and some patchy rain to the far north of Scotland though. Breezy across Scotland as well. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Friday 5/11/21
High pressure still looks to influence drier conditions across much of England and Wales on Friday, however, rain could push in across parts of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland, heavy rain in the west and patchier further east. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Saturday 6/11/21
Cloud and rain will push southeastwards across England and Wales on Saturday, clearing northern and western areas with drier and brighter weather to follow here, although in the brisk wind do expect a few scattered showers. Highs at 9 to 13C.
