Fairly mild days

A mainly fair week ahead as high pressure drifts slowly over the British Isles. Some weak fronts may infiltrate the high at times, giving varied cloud and a risk of local patches of rain, mainly in western Scotland.

Tuesday 12/10/21
High pressure centred to the southwest will influence Britain and Ireland. A weakening front draped across Britain leaves a legacy of cloud and some patches of rain or local showers forming, but most places will be dry. Fairly light winds, although a northerly breeze will feel cool on eastern coasts. Some morning mist and fog in low-lying areas. Feeling pleaseant where sun breaks through in the afternoon. Daytime highs 13 to 17C, warmest in southern England.

Wednesday 13/10/21
High pressure stays toward the southwest, bringing continued fair weather for most of the country. Some morning fog, starting cool again in rural areas. Sunshine and variable cloud into the afternoon. Light winds for England & Wales. A fresher westerly breeze for north and western Scotland, fairly cloudy here, perhaps drizzly rain in the northwest. Highs 13 to 18C, warmest southeast England.

Thursday 14/10/21
Staying fair across many areas, with some morning mist then sunshine breaking through. Light winds in the south, a fresher southwesterly breeze for Scotland and Ireland will bring fairly cloudy skies, perhaps some drizzly rain in the far northwest. Fairly mild, highs 13 to 18C, warmest in the east and south.
 

Friday 15/10/21
High pressure holds on toward the south, whilst brisker westerly winds affect the north and some rain may graze across northern Scotland. Sunniest in the southeast of England. Highs 12 to 17C, warmest in the east.

Saturday 16/10/21
High pressure drifts eastwards. Staying dry and mild for the Midlands and south of England and Wales. Some morning fog. Cloudier toward the north and west of Britain and Ireland. Highs 12 to 17C.

Sunday 17/10/21
Fair weather is likely to continue for south & eastern areas with high pressure centred to the east. Morning fog will thin to give sunny spells. Some cloud and rain may move into the northwest. Highs 12 to 17C.
