Mainly settled this week and chilly on Friday. Turning unsettled though milder into next week.

High pressure is the current dominant weather feature bringing this settled weather. A cold front sinks southwards Thursday and Friday dragging a brief stint of colder air behind it allowing for a slight frost first thing in the north. Weather turns milder and unsettled next week.

Pressure is high again on Saturday centred to the south of the country. There is likely to be lots of cloud around with some drizzle over western and southern coasts and hills. Misty here too. Eastern areas could see one or two brighter spells coming through. Highs at 12 to 16C, mildest in the west.
 

Sunday 17/10/21
Another cloudy day in a moist southwesterly flow. Drizzle and patchy rain affecting western coasts and hills with some mist and fog here too. Patchy rain also affecting southern and southeastern regions of England first thing before clearing here. Drier elsewhere. Mild for all at 13 to 17C.
 

Monday 18/10/21
A more unsettled day is likely on Monday with the southwest wind bringing fronts eastwards through the country. These will bring spells of rain and drizzle with them, most affecting Scotland, as well as Wales and western regions of England, drier further east. Breezy for all. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Tuesday 19/10/21
Low pressure pushes in across Ireland on Tuesday. The southwest wind brings showers and longer spells of rain, most of them in the west. Strengthening winds expected. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Wednesday 20/10/21
Low pressure dominates again through Wednesday. It brings another windy and mixed day with rain and showers, most in the west and south. The best of the brightness in the east. Highs around 12 to 17C.

Thursday 21/10/21
Staying mixed to unsettled as we head into Thursday. Strong winds still affecting many regions. Rain heaviest and most persistent in the north and west as the low pressure centre moves to the north of Scotland. Highs at 12 to 17C.
