Chilly with sunshine and showers, turning drier for a time, then milder and unsettled at the weekend

A cool week ahead as northerly winds bring a mix of sunny spells and showers for the next few days. Most of the showers on windward facing coasts and hills. Telling more unsettled later in the week particularly across Scotland, where there will be gales at times. Staying and settled into the weekend although it will become milder.

Wednesday 3/11/21
A northerly wind across the British Isles through Wednesday, making for another cool day. Cloudier skies in Scotland and much of Ireland as well as northern England. Some showers or outbreaks of rain here too, the heaviest of them in northern and western areas of Ireland. Probably turning brighter in central and northern Scotland. Some sunny spells and mostly dry for the rest of England and Wales, the best sunshine in the south. Strong winds in northern Scotland. lighter elsewhere. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.


Thursday 4/11/21
A ridge of higher pressure begins to build over the country on Thursday. This is going to bring a less chilly feel to the day. It should be dry for most with some reasonable spells of sunshine, the best in southern and western areas. A risk of some showers omn eastern coasts. Always more cloud in Scotland with the risk of some drizzle to the northwest. It may turn drizzly in western Ireland too. Tops at 8 to 11C.


Friday 5/11/21
High pressure to the southwest of the British Isles on Friday. Weak fronts afecting Scotland. These will bring plenty of cloud across many northern areas as well as to Ireland and perhaps the west of the UK. Some drizzle afecting western coasts and hills. Drier in the east and south. The best sunshine in southeastern parts of England. Tops at 8 to 11C.

Saturday 6/11/21
A southwest flow develops on Saturday with fronts bringing some rain and strong winds to northern and western Scotland and Ireland. A risk of low cloud and drizzle affecting western coasts of Wales and England. Brighter and drier in eastern and southern areas. Highs at 10 to 12C.

Sunday 7/11/21
Fronts bringing some outbreaks of rain across England and Wales on Sunday as then pass eastwards. Cloud and some drizzle for western Scotland where it will be cooler too. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Monday 8/11/21
A deep area of low pressure may be cloud to western Scotland on Monday. This brings gale force winds and some rain followed by heavy showers in the west. Rain too in southern England, although this probably lighter. Sunshine and showers elsewhere. Tops at 6 to 12C.
