Heavy showers and staying mixed, some rain at the weekend, then cooler next week
Showers continue in the days ahead as low pressure remains close by. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times. Further showers through the weekend, and perhaps turning cooler later in the weekend and into the early stages of next week.

Friday 14/5/21 A bright start to the day after morning mist patches have clear on Friday morning. Pressure remains generally low. There will be some sunny spells but also some showers developing once more. It seems that the focus for the showers will be through southeast England, the Midlands, Wales and Northern Ireland as well as northern England. Drier in Scotland with sunny spells. Mainly dry too in the southwest. However, rain arrives in southern Ireland later on Friday, this arriving in the southwest by nightfall. Highs at 11C over eastern coasts of England and Scotland, 16C in the west.
Saturday 15/5/21 A front pushes eastwards on Saturday bringing showery bursts of rain, most in the west and south, Some showers developing in northern England and Scotland, possibly heavy in the afternoon. Highs around 13 to 16C.
Sunday 16/5/21 Further showers on Sunday as low pressure affects all of the British Isles. The showers are likely to be heavy and thundery as well as prolonged. Gusty winds in the showers. Highs at 13 to 17C.
Monday 17/5/21 Sunshine and showers through Monday as low pressure remains across all areas. Showers could again be heavy and thundery at times. Top temperatures near 11 to 16C.
Tuesday 18/5/21 A northwest flow across the British Isles on Tuesday. There will be sunny spells and a scattering of showers. The showers will be heaviest in the east with fewer in the west. Highs at 10 to 15C.
Wednesday 19/5/21 A weak ridge of high pressure is expected to be building on Wednesday. This will be bringing a drier day with sunny spells. Some rain may affect Ireland later. Temperatures at 12 to 17C.
