Monday 24/5/21
The UK and Ireland will continue to be within a trough on Monday so expect breezy and wet conditions for most. Windiest conditions affecting southern and western coasts. Meanwhile, a band of rain will push eastwards across Wales and England in the morning, heavy and persistent at times, with showery conditions developing behind. A separate band of rain will also push across northern Scotland. Elsewhere, expect possible sunny spells and showers, some of these turning heavy. Conditions improving across Ireland, Northern Ireland and southwest England later in the day. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Tuesday 25/5/21
A north to northwest wind flow on Tuesday with higher pressure to the west and lower pressure to the east. There will be sunny spells but also some showers, these generally well scattered but could become heavy across parts of England in the afternoon. Highs at 11 to 16C.

Wednesday 26/5/21
The cool northwest flow persists on Wednesday allowing for a morning ground frost in well sheltered areas. There will be sunny spells and dry weather in many areas although showers are likely to develop across eastern areas of England and Scotland. Best of the lengthy spells of sunshine further west. Highs at 10 to 15C.

Thursday 27/5/21
Pressure remains generally high on Thursday with plenty of dry conditions and sunny spells with the temperatures responding, although some showers could develop across more eastern areas. There is the risk of some rain affecting southern Ireland into Wales and southern parts of England through the day but currently confidence is low in this. Temperatures could rise to 19C across parts of England in the sunshine. Elsewhere, highs between 10 and 16C.

Friday 28/5/21
Models are differing somewhat on their story for Friday, but currently high pressure looks to remain the dominant feature over the UK and Ireland. This will see largely dry and fine conditions although showers could affect parts of south Ireland, Wales and England at times. Highs at 10 to 18C.

Saturday 29/5/21
High pressure is looking to continue to be the main feature across the British Isles into the weekend, therefore more emphasis on drier conditions is expected. Highs at 11 to 17C.
