Mixed weather throughout the coming week. There will be showers and these will be heavy, prolonged and thundery at times. Temperatures will be warmer than recent weeks.

Wednesday 12/5/21
Low pressure remains overhead the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. There will be more widespread, heavy and thundery showers just about anywhere. Indications are that most of these will be in Northern Ireland, Wales and southern Scotland in the morning. The showers then develop more widely across most of the rest of England, Wales and Scotland, more persistent rain in northern Scotland. Southeast England may be drier and brighter. Further showers in Ireland. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 17C in southeast England.


Thursday 13/5/21
Low pressure over the south of the British Isles on Thursday. Showers or longer spells of rain will become heavier and thundery through the day. Further showers in eastern and southern Ireland. A northeast flow brings sunshine and showers to eastern Scotland and northeast England. Drier in northwest England, western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at a cooler 9C in northern Scotland, 16C in southern England.


Friday 14/5/21
A weak ridge of high pressure building through the country on Friday and feeling cooler in the northeast wind. There could be some showers developing in sea breezes around southern and western coasts. Generally it will be drier and brighter with sunny spells. Highs at 9 to 15C, coolest in the east and north.

Saturday 15/5/21
Low pressure is west of Ireland with high pressure to the east. A front moves through Ireland and into the west of the UK bringing rain. eastern areas are likely to be drier and brighter. Highs at 11 to 16C.

Sunday 16/5/21
Low pressure west of Ireland today with fronts pushing east. These bring showers, some of them heavy and thundery. Drier in the east with sunny spells. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Monday 17/5/21
An unsettled day seems likely with cloud and periods of rain. Low pressure remains to the west of Ireland with heavy showers here. Highs at 14 to 18C.
