Heavy showers and or rain with a risk of lightning as an unstable and mixed weather pattern continues

Sunshine and showers, with at times longer spells of rain, through the forecast period, as the UK and Ireland keep a hold of low pressure. The risk of thunder and lightning within any heavier showers too. Temperatures around what they should be or for some slightly below average at times.

Saturday 15/5/21
Rain will push from west to east across much of the country on Saturday morning. Heavier bursts are expected in the west and south in particular. Showers developing behind. Northern Scotland should stay mainly dry although some showers are forecast for the Northern Isles. Highs around 13 to 16C.
 

Sunday 16/5/21
Further showers on Sunday as low pressure circulates over Ireland. The showers are likely to be heavy and thundery as well as prolonged. Gusty winds in the showers. Highs at 13 to 17C.

 
 
 

Monday 17/5/21
Sunshine and showers through Monday as low pressure continues to influence the UK and Ireland. Showers are likely to again be heavy and thundery at times. Top temperatures near 11 to 16C.

Tuesday 18/5/21
A northwest flow across the British Isles on Tuesday as low pressure pushes off towards Norway. There will be sunny spells and a scattering of showers. The showers will be heaviest and most prevalent in the north and east with fewer in the west. Highs at 10 to 15C.

Wednesday 19/5/21
Some possible heavier spells of rain across far southern counties due to an area of low pressure currently running through the English Channel on Wednesday. With low pressure close bt Scotland, expect another day of sunshine and showers, showers likely to be heavy and thundery once again for some. Highs at 10 to 16C.

Thursday 20/5/21
Weak low pressure remaining close by therefore another day of sunny spells and developing showers, although showers maybe won't be as heavy as they have been recently. Highs at 11 to 16C.
