Staying cold
Widespread frost

Saturday
Another bitterly cold start to the day on Saturday. A widespread, severe frost for many. There will be some snow showers around western, northern and eastern coasts. Inland it will be brighter and dry with some sunny spells. The afternoon sees the threat of snow showers continuing around the coasts. Inland areas remaining cold and bright with broken cloud and some sunny spells. Highs at 2 to 4C.


Saturday Night
Some more persistent snow showers may afect eastern Scotland and northeast England tonight. A few showers too over the west and north coast of Wales and over northern coasts of southwest England. Dry for other areas with well broken cloud and some clear skies. Lows near -2 to -7C but -10C over the snow fields of Scotland.
 


Sunday
A risk of some morning freezing fog in England and Wales on Sunday, this being slow to clear. Once it has the day will be mostly dry and bright. Low pressure off eastern coasts gives some snow showers here. Further snow showers in northern Scotland but dry and bright in other areas. Cold again at just 0C in fog, 2C for most other areas but to 6C in the far southwest of Cornwall.


Monday
Another cold day on Monday with wintry showers in Northern Ireland, northern Scotland as well as through parts of SE Ireland, south Wales and perhaps SW England. Eastern coasts of England could see a few snow showers too. Elsewhere sunny spells and mostly dry. Winds are also expected to start to strengthen across the far southwest later. Highs at just 1 to 3C but 6C in the far southwest.
