A chillier day for all. Frost and a risk of ice in the north. Starting rather cloudy with some early rain across southeast England before clearing and brighter conditions extend across much of England. A mix of rain, hail and snow showers across northwest England and west Wales. More frequent and heavier hail and snow showers in western Scotland pushing eastwards. Chance of isolated thunder. Feeling cold in brisk westerly winds, highs at 3 to 7C.


Monday night
Staying showery in western Scotland, but tending to fade and become more scattered. Snow flurries running inland across western Scotland. A few showers in western England and Wales, becoming mostly rain. Largely dry for central and eastern Britain with clear skies. Cloudier toward the west. Rain moves in across Ireland, heavy in the west. Dropping sub-zero inland for Scotland and northern England with frost and ice. Lows 1 to 4C for southern areas.


Tuesday
Outbreaks of rain will be pushing in from the west along with brisk and blustery winds. Snow over higher ground in Scotland, perhaps wintry to lower levels in the Highlands for a time. Heavy rain much of the day for Wales and northwest England. Increasingly wet in the southwest. Patchy rain moving into the Midlands. Dry for southeastern England until rain arrives later. Highs rising to 6 to 11C.


Wednesday
A dry start in the east but another rain pushes across all areas from the southwest, falling heavy and persistent for some particularly over western hills, with strengthening southwesterly winds, risk of gales. An increasing risk of flooding. Snow over the mountains in Scotland. Rain turns showery for Ireland and later western Britain. Highs at 5 to 10C.
