A cold day for Tuesday. Cloud and mostly dry in southern and central England and Wales. Sunnier skies developing in northern England and Scotland with some sunshine too in Northern Ireland. Scattered snow showers around northern and eastern coasts. Little changes in the afternoon and it remains very cold for all. Highs at 1 to 3C.
 


Tuesday Night
A widespread severe frost developing overnight into Wednesday. Cloudy in southern areas of England and Ireland with some sleet or snow in the far southwest of England. Some snow showers in northern Scotland. Dry for other areas with clear skies. Lows at -2 to -7C.
 


Wednesday
A severe frost again on Wednesday morning. Staying cold throughout the day. Cloud in southern England and south Wales. Mostly dry here but the threat of some sleet in southern Cornwall. Much sunnier skies develop in northern England and Scotland once freezing fog patches ligt. Dry here too. Some snow showers and a stronger wind for northern coasts of Scotland, some of the snow persistent in northeast Scotland. Highs at 1 to 3C.


Thursday
The northerly wind brings snow showers into northern Scotland. A few snow showers could affect northern coasts of Northern Ireland and west Wales too. A widespread severe frost with some morning mist and freezing fog patches. These clearing to leave the day dry with lengthy spells of sunshine in most areas away from northern coasts and hills. Highs at 0 to 2C.
