Dry in the east at first but an area of rain spreads through Ireland and into the west of England and Wales in the evening. This then passes eastwards overnight. The rain tends to be rather showery, although it may be heavier in Wales. Drier and colder in Scotland, although some showers in the west. Becoming drier in Ireland later. Lows near 1C in Scotland, 6C in southern England.


Thursday
A damp morning for Thursday across England and Wales. The rain quickly clears eastwards although it remains cloudy and damp along southern coasts of England with some heavy bursts of rain until mid-afternoon. Some showers in northern and western Scotland, these affecting northwest Ireland too. Elsewhere it tends to become brighter with some sunny spells developing. Highs at 5C in northern Scotland, 12C in southern England.


Friday
Low pressure west of Ireland will be pushing a frontal system north through Ireland, England and Wales on Friday. This brings heavy periods of rain and strong winds with it. Drier in the afternoon across much of central and southern England, although some heavy showers in the west. For Scotland the day starts bright and cold. Cloud increases in the south bringing rain,turning to snow in the afternoon. The snow mainly affecting the Southern Uplands as well as the Pennines. Some of the rain may become sleety in Northern Ireland for a time. Cold with a few snow showers in northern Scotland. Highs at 12C in southern England, 3C in northern Scotland.
