bGales in Scotland and Ireland, fair in the east but some showers in western areas

Rain in the far southeast this morning, clearing slowly east. Broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells for many. Severe gales in western Scotland and western Ireland with some showers here.

This afternoon is bright for most, especially in central and eastern areas. Gales again in western Scotland and western Ireland. Generally dry elsewhere although feeling a little cooler than Monday.

Rain western Scotland and the north and west of Ireland where there will be severe gales. Scattered showers over western coasts and hills. Drier in other areas with the best of any sunny spells in the east.
