Morning Call - September 29, 2019
Wet & windy south
Cool, drier north & west

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 29th September 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A wet and windy start to the day for much of England and Wales. Drier to the north and west with occasional showers, cooler here too.

Good morning,

It's a wet and windy start to the day for many across England and Wales this morning. The rain will gradually edge to the east and winds should also ease as the morning progresses. A brighter start for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland though there will be occasional showers here too - most frequent over eastern Ireland and western Scotland.

Rain clears to the east from England through this afternoon though some heavier bursts could linger over northern areas. Showers generally easing too, with the exception of western Scotland, giving a dry and bright afternoon across the island of Ireland, for Wales and for southwest England. High temperatures at 17 to 19C for central and southern England, 12 to 16C elsewhere.

Low pressure moves off to the east this evening allowing a northerly air flow to develop across the country. A drier night with occasional showers for windward-facing coasts and hills. Feeling chilly in the northerly breeze.

Have a good day!
Claire
