Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A mixture of sunny spells and broken cloud for most today; outbreaks of rain and showers, predominantly over northwestern parts of the British Isles.

Good morning,

It's a dry start for most today though with a bit of cloud around for western areas. A warm front brings light rain or drizzle to the far north of Northern Ireland and into western parts of Scotland too. Through the morning the front will work its way eastward bringing rain across much of Scotland and into northern England too. The rain becoming increasingly light and showery to the east and south.

Through the afternoon and the rain should clear to the east of Scotland though a few light showers may develop over northern England and the Midlands. A mixture of broken cloud and sunny spells for most parts of the country with the best of the brightness to the southeast. High temperaures widely at 14 to 17C.

Another band of rain arrives to the northwest of Scotland through Thursday evening spreading across western Scotland, Northern Ireland and the northern half of Ireland through the first half of the night. Skies stay clearer to the southeast.

Have a great day!
Claire
