A chilly start but then turning milder into the weekend

Chilly to start this week and mostly dry as well. There will be some spots of rain and a few showers in northern Scotland. Tending to turn drier again into the weekend as the winds turn more southerly, these lifting temperatures. It may become warm too, especially in the east where there will also be the best of the sunshine.

Thursday 2/4/20
Low pressure off Shetland on Thursday. There will be cloud and rain here, a risk of gales. There will be showers too in western Scotland, north and west Wales as well as western England. Further showers and outbreaks of rain in Ireland. Drier for southern England as well as eastern Scotland and eastern England where there will be a few bright spells. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 12C in the south of England.


Friday 3/4/20
Higher pressure east of England bringing a milder south to southeast flow. There will be more cloud in the west, a risk of some drizzle in western Ireland and western Scotland. Brighter in the rest of the UK, the best of the sunshine in the east. Highs at 7 to 12C.
 


Saturday 4/4/20
Higher pressure stays east of the UK again on Saturday. Cloudier skies to the west bringing some outbreaks of rain here. Dry for most other areas, although more cloud than recently. Always the threat of some drizzle on western coasts and hills. Brighter in the east. Highs at 9 to 13C.
 


Sunday 5/4/20
High pressure to the east, lower pressure to the west. Drizzle in western Ireland and western Scotland. Drier over the east of Ireland, Wales, England and the rest of Scotland with some brighter spells. Always the risk of some low cloud and drizzle on western coasts and hills. Highs at 18C in eastern areas, 12 to 14C in the west.


Monday 6/4/20
Rain in Ireland and western Scotland on Monday. A risk of some drizzle over western coasts of Wales and England. Drier in central and eastern areas and mild too. Highs around 17C in any sunshine in the east, mostly 12 to 15C.

Tuesday 7/4/20
More mixed on Tuesday with periods of rain passing east. It is going to be a mild day again with highs around 12 to 16C.
