Rain first thing will clear from the north and west to sunny spells and showers. A windy day.
After a dry start for much of the UK, a deepening area of low pressure will push spells of rain, heavy for some, through southern and western regions, clearing Ireland and Northern Ireland early on allowing for sunshine and showers to develop here. Drier further east and across much of Scotland in the morning.
Through the day, the rain turns heavy and persistent for a time across southern and western areas but gradually clearing this region and pushing further north and east. A strengthened wind especially through southern and southeastern regions of England. Sunny spells and showers to follow behind.
Through the evening rain will clear eastern regions of England and push up across Scotland overnight. Heavy rainfall expected through north and northeast Scotland with gale force winds for a time here. Perhaps some rain will linger across the far SE corner of England overnight too. Elsewhere, clear skies and mostly dry weather but showers affecting southern and western coasts. A chilly night for some.
