Drier weather to follow

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 30th October 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Rain clearing from the west

Outbreaks of rain will push eastwards across the country in the morning, clearing from the west with drier and brighter weather to follow. Ireland and Northern Ireland looking to be mostly dry but with some scattered showers further west.

The afternoon sees still outbreaks of rain across northern and central parts of Scotland, largely dry further south here with sunny spells developing. Mainly dry across England and Wales but with some showers in western regions. Cloud gradually thickens across Ireland with rain reaching western coastal counties by the end of the day.

Rain will spread up across Ireland into Northern Ireland overnight and push on to affect Wales and western parts of England and southwest Scotland, turning heavy and persistent in places. Winds will also strengthen. The rest of England and as well as north and east Scotland should stay dry though cloudy.
