Rain first thing will clear from the north and west to sunny spells and showers. A windy day.
A cloudy and wet start for most of the UK with spells of rain about, heavy and persistent for a time in the west. Rain clearing western areas of the UK through the morning with sunshine and showers to follow. Eastern regions of Ireland looking to be dry with sunny spells though western regions as well as Northern Ireland seeing showers and or longer spells of rain.
Much of the rain will clear the UK in the afternoon, although likely to hang on across the far southeast corner of England for a time longer. Heavier rain still expected to affect west Scotland into western parts of Ireland. Drier and brighter elsewhere but showers affecting some western regions. Breezy for most, windy towards the north.
Overnight, rain will continue across west Scotland and it will contineu to be windy here. Breezy elsewhere but winds looking to ease compared to the daytime. Mostly dry elsewhere but rain pushes through Ireland and into Wales later.
