Rain in Scotland, windy in northern England, best of any brightness to the east, cool for all
Welcome to November! Things will be looking autumnal out there today as low pressure sits off northeastern Scotland. This brings strong winds and some rain to central and northern Scotland, transferring eastwards this afternoon. For southern parts of Scotland, althougha fair amount of cloud, it should be drier, although some heavy showers may move in from time to time, especially in the west.
Elsewhere the morning will be starting brighter and cool overall. There will be showers and probably more cloud across northern England and Northern Ireland. Showers affecting western England and western Wales as well as the north and west of Ireland. A windy start to the day too in northern England. Through this afternoon the best sunny spells develop in more eastern areas, whilst some showers continuing on and off in the west. The winds will be easing.
Overnight further showers in the north and west with more persistent rain in the far north of Scotland. There will be showers too in southern England and western Ireland. A cool night for other places with clearer skies and a touch of ground frost by morning.
