Rain pushing across the country with strengthened winds.

Rain will sweep eastwards in the morning, heavy in the west for a time but becoming patchy as it pushes further east. Some southeastern regions of England may stay dry throughout the day. Windy for all with gales towards coastal areas.

As the rain clears expect sunny spells and showers to develop behind, showers can be heavy in the west. More persistent spells of rain still through parts of Wales and the Midlands during the afternoon. More rain is expected to push in to western regions of Ireland later.

A cloudy and wet night with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent through western areas and across Scotland. Clearing Ireland and Northern Ireland through the early hours with clear spells developing but also some blustery showers. Winds stay strong for all. A milder night for many but chilly in the north and west.
