Rain continues in the west - potential flood risk

Persistent and at times heavy rain continues across northwest England, south and east Scotland, Wales and into and across southwest England through the morning into the afternoon. An increasing risk of flooding in these areas. Some showers across west Scotland.

Drier and feeling mild across central, southern and eastern parts of England. Also drier for much of northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, although western parts here are expected to see showery rain. A mild day once more.

Rain continues overnight in the west and by Friday morning pushes eastwards across and into central and southern parts of England, southeastern regions should remain dry. Scotland as well as Northern Ireland and Ireland also seeing rain spread northwards here again. A mild night again.
