Rain in west
Strengthening winds

Issued: 0530hrs Saturday 23rd October 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Rain in the north and west. Winds strengthening.

Broken cloud with some sunny spells further east through the morning. Patchy light rain across some western regions with more persistent rainfall pushing into the the far west of Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. Winds will gradually strengthen too.

The afternoon sees the rain continue to push across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, heaviest in the west. Patchy light rain across Wales, southwest and northwest England. Drier though rather cloudy elsewhere with some sunny spells towards southeast England. Winds strong to near gale force towards western coasts.

Overnight, the band of heavier rain will continue to push eastwards, clearing Ireland and Northern Ireland by morning, and pushing across the rest of Scotland into northern England, Wales and southwest England. Drier elsewhere here. Clear skies behind but also some blustery showers as winds stay brisk. A milder night.
