Heavy rain in the west, dry for most and very mild

A fair and very mild start to Halloween across much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland. Some sunny spells in central and eastern England, although don;t expect these to last as cloud increases into the afternoon. Rain affecting western Scotland and Ireland tending to turn more persistent as the morning wears on. Drizzle for western coasts of Wales and southwest England as well as southwest Scotland.

This afternoon is wet in Ireland with some heavy rain in the south and east, with some hefty rain too in the Isles of Scilly. Rain for much of Scotland, edging eastwards during the afternoon and being heavy in the west at times. An increasing risk of drizzle developing along southern coasts of England later, although for much of England and eastern Wales it stays dry and very mild.

Overnight conditions turn wet for much of England and Wales as rain move north and east. The rain heavy in places. Dampt too in Scotland, especially the west and south. A few showers in Ireland, but tending to be drier inland.
