Windy but mild
Increasingly wet northwest

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 9th October 2022
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Dry with sunshine England and Wales

Good morning,

It's blustery but quite mild today as southerly winds affect Britain, gales around coasts and hills in the north and west. A frontal system moves in across Ireland and Scotland.

Much of England and Wales will be dry today with some sunshine, best in the east, but weakening as high cloud builds from the west.

Heavy rain moves across Ireland and Northern Ireland, also setting in widely across Scotland as the day progresses. Rain reaches northwest England and west Wales later in the day, extending toward the Midlands into the night, then fizzling out.

Today's top temperatures will reach 16 to 18C in central and eastern England, around 14C for Wales and the west of England, 11 to 14C Scotland and Ireland.

Have a great day.
Garry
