Rain in northern and western England and Wales, then heavy rain and gales tonight

Breezy and wet through much of southern Scotland, northwest England and northwest Wales this morning. Breezy and drier in the rest of Wales and England, some drizzle along southern coasts. Heavy showers in western Scotland as wel as western Ireland.

The rain slowly slipping through northern England and Wales as wel as into the far southwest of England this afternoon. Patchy drizzle continues on southern coasts of England. Other areas dry and warm. Much brighter and fresher weather arriving in northern Scotland later with scattered showers on western coasts.

Overnight it becomes very wet through Ireland, Wales, western and northern England as well as much of Scotland, especially the south. Windy too with gales in England and Wales and then later across Ireland.
