A dry and bright day ahead for many

Good morning,

A weakening cold front is moving across southeastern England this morning, bringing a cloudy start with some rain for a time. This will fade and clear into the middle of the day.

Brighter skies follow across central and western England and Wales, with sunnier skies extending further south and east through the afternoon.

It's a breezy day for northern Britain, with fresh westerlies bringing showers to western Scotland, some heavy for a time in the northwest. Gales for the Northern Isles.

Today's top temperatures will range from 16C in the south, to 13C in the north, but it will feel cooler in the wind in the northwest.
