Rain in northern Scotland, showers in western and southern areas, drier in the east

A wet morning in much of central, northern and eastern Scotland. Turning drier in the south of Scotland with some brighter spells developing. Heavy showers for the south of Wales and southern England, breezy through England, Wales and the whole of Ireland too. Tending got be drier with some bright spells in northern and eastern England as well as most of Ireland.

Heavy showers this afternoon in Wales and much of southern England. Further heavy showers in western Scotland, but dry, bright and breezy in central and eastern Scotland. Drier for northern England with some sunny spells here. Showers again in western Ireland where they could be heavy. Drier for eastern Ireland.

Overnight showers clear east. A few showers over western and southern coasts, these fading during the night. Clearer skies developing for most and becoming drier. A breezy night too.
